Application Status
Application for approval as a nonprofit budget and credit counseling agency and provider of a personal financial management instructional course is currently pending with the Executive Office for U.S. Trustees. Services will not be offered until approval is granted.
Fee Waiver Policy
Nationwide Bankruptcy Classes grants a full fee waiver to any client whose household income is at or below 150% of the current Federal Poverty Guidelines, as published annually by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
Household income includes total gross income from all sources for all members of the household. For joint filers, eligibility is determined based on combined household income and total household size.
Clients may request a fee waiver prior to enrollment by contacting the Nationwide Bankruptcy Classes directly at nationwidebankruptcyclasses@gmail.com. No client will be denied services due to inability to pay. Issuance of a certificate of completion will not be withheld if a fee waiver is granted.

These disclosures are provided in accordance with 28 C.F.R. § 58.20(l) and must be reviewed prior to enrollment in budget and credit counseling services.
This counseling session satisfies the pre-petition credit counseling requirement under 11 U.S.C. § 109(h).
The purpose of the counseling session is to:
Review the debtor’s current financial situation,
Discuss alternatives to bankruptcy, and
Assist in developing a personal budget analysis.
Completion of this counseling session is required before filing for bankruptcy under Chapters 7, 11, 12, or 13, unless otherwise exempted by the court.
The Agency is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. The Agency cannot provide advice regarding whether a debtor should file bankruptcy, how to complete bankruptcy forms, or the likely outcome of a bankruptcy case.
The Agency cannot guarantee that a debtor will receive a discharge or achieve any specific legal outcome.
The fee for the budget and credit counseling session is $11.95 per debtor (or $11.95 total for joint filers).
No additional fees are charged for issuance of the certificate of credit counseling.

Debtors may request a fee waiver prior to enrollment by contacting the Agency by email or telephone and submitting income documentation or written income information sufficient to verify eligibility.
No debtor will be denied counseling services due to inability to pay. Issuance of a certificate of completion will not be withheld if a fee waiver is granted.
Upon completion of the counseling session and required financial analysis, a certificate of credit counseling will be issued promptly and no later than one business day.
Certificates are delivered electronically. The debtor is responsible for filing the certificate with the bankruptcy court unless otherwise required by the court.
The counseling session includes:
A review of income, expenses, assets, and liabilities,
A discussion of available financial options,
Development of a personal budget analysis.
The Agency does not provide legal representation, tax advice, or investment advice.
The Agency does not offer or administer Debt Repayment Plans (DRPs) to clients seeking credit counseling pursuant to 11 U.S.C. § 109(h).
Clients completing counseling for bankruptcy purposes will not be enrolled in a DRP.
The Agency maintains records of counseling sessions and certificates in accordance with applicable federal regulations.

The Agency does not report participation in credit counseling services to any credit reporting agency.
The Agency does not sell debtor information to third parties.
Enrollment in credit counseling services constitutes acknowledgment that the debtor has reviewed these disclosures prior to commencement of counseling.
